It was designed by Carl Thore, the stage name of engineer and designer Sigurd Lindkvist, who worked at Granhaga Metallindustri in Toreboda, Sweden. Thore created a lamp that sculpts light using a series of aluminum rings. Light passes between the rings, refracts and diffuses softly, creating a warm and pleasant halo.
