The Trava lamp is one of the most recognizable lamps of 1960s Scandinavian design. It was designed by Carl Thore, the stage name of engineer and designer Sigurd Lindkvist, who worked at Granhaga Metallindustri in Toreboda, Sweden. Thore created a lamp that sculpts light using a series of aluminum rings. Light passes between the rings, refracts and diffuses softly, creating a warm and pleasant halo. The white shade emphasizes the geometric form and gives the lamp an elegant and restrained appearance. Since the 1960s and beyond, Trava lamps have hung above dining areas throughout Scandinavia. They became a sought-after item thanks to the combination of engineering precision and design sensitivity. Today they are considered a collector's item that tells the story of an era when light was an entire cultural language. The lamp in classic white, wired and connected to a new electrical connector. Suitable above a dining table or as ambient lighting in a bedroom or living room.
